Racco FAQ

Short, plain answers about the races, the garage, the lap book and $RACCO.

What is Racco?

Racco is an arcade racing club on Robinhood Chain. A raccoon street racer is the club's driver: you take the wheel in short top-down time trials, tune how the car looks in the garage, race against a ghost of your own best lap and, if you want, write that lap into a public on-chain lap book.

How does Racco work?

The race runs entirely in your browser on a fixed 60-steps-per-second engine. Every car handles the same, so the garage only changes paint, body kit, wheels, accessories, stripes and the race number. Your best lap per track and its ghost are kept in this browser. Recording a lap sends the track number, the lap time in milliseconds, a fingerprint of your car and a fingerprint of the lap's inputs to the RaccoLapBook contract from your own wallet.

Do I need a wallet to race?

No. The time trials, the garage, ghosts and the driver profile all work without a wallet. A wallet is only needed to record a lap in the lap book.

Are the lap times checked?

No, and the site says so wherever times appear. The contract cannot watch a race, so every time is self-reported: it proves that a wallet claimed a lap at a given block, not that the lap was driven. The contract only refuses times outside 5 seconds to 10 minutes and times that are not faster than the wallet's own best on that track.

What does the lap book store?

For each wallet and track: the best lap time, the chain block and time it was recorded, the car fingerprint and the ghost fingerprint. The contract is live and the leaderboard reads it directly. It has no owner, no admin key, no fee and cannot hold funds.

Which network is Racco on?

Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663), an Ethereum layer-two network that uses ETH for gas. The connect dialog adds the network to your wallet if it is missing. Phantom cannot add custom networks, so it is shown but disabled.

How do I buy $RACCO?

$RACCO has not launched yet, so there is no contract address and nothing to buy. The official address will appear on this site and the @racco profile at launch; ignore anything else that uses the name.

What can I do with $RACCO?

Nothing in this build. Ideas such as buying cosmetic items, customisation credits or creator features are plans for later and may change or never ship. $RACCO carries no promised value, reward, prize or return.

Are there prizes for the leaderboard?

No. There are no token prizes, rewards or giveaways tied to lap times. The leaderboard is for bragging rights only.

What are the risks?

Smart contracts can have bugs, and the contract code has not been independently reviewed yet. A token can lose all of its value. Lap times are self-reported and can be faked by anyone with a wallet. Recording a lap costs a small amount of ETH for gas. Only use money you can afford to lose and never share your seed phrase; Racco will never ask for it.

Are collectibles or NFTs part of Racco?

Not yet. Vehicle collections, cosmetic items and on-chain ownership of selected items are planned features. The cars in today's garage are settings saved in your browser, not tokens and not NFTs.
